SHORT SYNOPSIS

Career girl Crystal Davis was struck by debilitating illness, leaving her struggling to walk and causing her to lose everything. But worse was to come - her beloved twin sister was experiencing suicidal feelings. 

To rise above, Crystal knew she must do something extraordinary; and set out to break a world record for endurance cycling, raising awareness for suicide prevention.

After conquering the deadly extremes of a 1,600km journey alone on a rickshaw and achieving her goal, Crystal uncovered deep issues within the ethics of the world record industry...

Leading her to challenge a 70 year monopoly on excellence certification and placing her on an unstoppable path to greatness, elevating millions of people all over the world.

Rose Davis is a visionary filmmaker whose journey began 25 years ago in the dark room. She has a deep interest in humanity and compassion driven storytelling. 

Rose is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent and a person living with multiple disabilities.

Tasmanian Mum of 3, she strives to show her children how to lean on your superpowers & produce world class work.

director statement

I chose a mixed cinematic and raw documentary style to reflect the juxtaposition and complication inherent within the story itself - that our personal relationships, facing death, and the choices we make based on our values, are universal human experiences. 

Combining footage shot from the back of a rickshaw 7 years ago, video logs addressing confronting concepts, and tying them together with interview style storytelling and cinematic scenes - presented an extreme challenge to simplify complex, competing themes and keep the viewer on a cohesive journey.

My intent is that the audience comprehend that excellence and the everyday are not mutually exclusive, and that ordinary people, even under duress, can choose extraordinary outcomes that rewrite history.
